LEVEL 1: Content summary
Most important here is that the content of a text is completely and correctly transmitted into the target language. All relevant content of the source text is translated into clear and understandable language, which may include a mixture of sentences and bullet points.

At this level you can expect grammatically correct prose in addition to accurate content transfer. Translations at this level are strictly based on the original text. Stylistic niceties play a minor role. Native speakers will quickly recognize the resulting text as a translation.

LEVEL 3: Professional texts
Level 3 translations read as though authored in the target language. They are distinguished by their fluency, for which literal translations are adapted to the stylistic characteristics of the target language.

LEVEL 4: Effective text
Level 3 reaches its limits when symbolic language, sayings, or allusions to cultural, historical, or political landscape of a country need to be adapted to another culture.
Select level 4 when you want the translation to achieve the same effect in another culture as the original text does in its cultural context, Terminology and expression may be significantly modified for this purpose. In addition to perfect language skills, translators at this level have extensive knowledge of both the source and target culture.
